2016: Obama's America is really a 2012 documentary by conservative author and commentator Dines D'Souza. The film was produced by Gerald R. Molen. D'Souza and John Sullivan co-directed and co-wrote the film. The film is dependent on D'Souza's 2010 book titled The Roots of Obama's Rage. Through interviews and reenactments, the film compares the similarities from the lives of D'Souza and The president as D'Souza presents his theory of methods early influences on Obama are affecting the decisions he makes as president. Reviewers praised the quality of the film's production, but doubted its ability to change any viewer's mind about Obama's policies.

Synopsis: "If President Barrack obama wins a second term, which side we are in 2016?" In keeping with America’s ideals, they invested their hope inside a new type of president, Barack Obama. This film examines Obama's past and how it defines him--who he's, how he thinks and where he promises to take America and the world. Immersed in exotic locales across four continents, conservative author Dinesh D? Souza expounds around the president's past and reveals where he believes America will be in 2016.

Production: D'Souza describes the film as "a vista" of Obama's earlier life, following his childhood from Hawaii to Indonesia along with a visit to Kenya (Obama's father's birthplace). Such an upbringing D'Souza contends is responsible for President Obama a subscription "to an ideology that sees America very differently." D'Souza asserts that Obama's father’s Kenyan roots in particular have inspired the President "to shrink America’s footprint on the planet because he thinks we’ve been stepping on the world." The film further aims to exhibit D'Souza's predictions about how the way forward for America might unfold should Obama be elected to some second term as President.
